MAX Pro is an advanced electronic charting standard dedicated for optimal use on advanced electronic chart systems and PC based navigation systems like Chartworx Electronic Chart Systems (ECS) for the light marine market.

All Chartworx Electronic Chart Systems for the light marine market are powered by C-MAP MAX Pro cartography, the most advanced charts available for the light marine market worldwide. Navigators will immediately notice the crisp colourful chart details, new level of available data and versatile display options.

MAX Pro delivers a range of display options designed to enhance navigation, including Satellite Image Overlay and detailed coastal roads. MAX Pro differs from any other similar product developed for the light marine market because it incorporates with the chart data a Port and Marina database.

It also provides aerial photos of ports, Points of Interest, and other conspicuous features. MAX pro comes with a global tidal database providing both tidal streams and heights. Useful features like these and others help mariners navigate safely and efficiently, whether they’re in confined waters, cruising Inland lakes and waterways or crossing from one continent to the other.

MAX Pro’s Real Time Update Service (RTU) enables the user to update his database by quickly downloading all recent Notice to Mariners (NTM) advisories, via Internet or e-mail, 24 hours a day, which until recently have been available only for large, expensive commercial navigation systems. The update may be downloaded by any PC connected to the internet and the updates transferred to the onboard system by a memory stick or similar. This enables the mariner to cruise with confidence with the knowledge they have the latest, most accurate data available. And with MAX Pro’s huge coverage areas and worldwide chart library, users can have the best charts at their fingertips wherever they go.

The subscription to the RTU service comes free the first year after the purchase of a MAX Pro Area. There after the subscription may be renewed on an annual basis for a third of the original purchase price. In addition it is also possible to rent charts for four months for a third of the purchase price. MAX Pro comes in so called “Wide” or Mega Wide” areas.

Now designed to operate with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7, Chartworx Electronic Chart Systems for MAX Pro deliver the popular features customers have come to expect from Chartworx, including real time vessel positioning, alarm warnings for floating objects, AIS target tracking, seamless chart integration, distance and bearing to active mark/route/target, route and waypoint placement, GPS upload / download, twilight and night display, integrated ETA calculator, autopilot support, and more.
